Screen Printing

So how do we get your design idea on the merchandise and ready to be presented to your client?

At Inner City Ink, we specialize in high-quality silkscreen printing.

Three elements make up this process: The screen, the squeegee and ink. In essence, a screen is stretched around a rigid frame. A stencil, representing the image to be printed is produced on the screen. The framed screen is then positioned over the item to be printed along with a dollop of ink. This is where the squeegee comes in – it is used to press the ink through the screen on the item. The open areas on the screen, that aren’t covered by the stencil, where the ink will seep through, form the image of the print. If more colours are needed for the final design, the process is repeated with different screens for the different colours. The final step is to send the item on a conveyor belt through a heating tunnel. This curing process ensures that the ink dries quickly so that the materials can be packed and sent off to you.
